Jonah had a sneaking suspicion that the fish had dropped him off at Ninevah. He strode into town and gave God's message. Ninevah stopped being a town where people did terrible things and started to be a town where people listened to God. Jonah knew that it wasn't hm who had changed them. He was still just an ordinary man, but he trusted his extra-ordinary God.
